Sorry to burst your bubble, but a Native American Headdress is not a “thinking cap.”
Wearing one when you’re a white person is just ridiculously rude. Would you put on a Pope’s Cap as a joke and say it’s a “thinking cap”?
Maybe you need to look at this blog and see why that “trend” is totally insulting and ridiculous.

      gorgeous shot. :)

oh and, I am part Native American and am not offended. Native American peices are very spiritual.

    • CaliMel11

Just because you are “part” Native American does not entitle you to say if it’s offensive or not. Did you even read that blog? Head dresses worn by a white girl sitting at a computer are NOT “spiritual”. Only very few Native Americans were even allowed to wear the head dress BECAUSE it is a spiritual piece.

I think you are reading into the headdress thing a little too deep. I am half native American and do not find this offensive. It is all relative to the situation. It is possible to don the headdress out of respect and adoration. Nicole is not wearing it out on the street. While women do not traditionally wear them, European women did not wear pants and suits until recently. There is tasteful fashion, which should not be confused for profiting off of indigenous cultures. I thought the picture was adorable because it reminded me of my roots and brought more attention to Native Americans’ plight.

Did you even read the blog? The blog is written by a full Native American person.
Head Dresses made from cheap crappy feathers are not the same thing. Like I said before, you obviously did not read the blog I posted a link to. It doesn’t matter if you’re “half” native american or not.
I’m not reading into it too much at all.

very cool photo, and very cool head dress. would like to have one myself!

was just wondering, would you ever sell any of your collection for cheap for your charity, richiemaddon is it? i was looking at the collection at online shops and they are gorgeous clothes, but I thought that if they were cheaper then lots of people would buy them and you could raise a lot of money for charity and get some more publicity in your clothing line Winter Kate and House of Harlow 1960. I’d definitely buy if they got into River Island/H&M/TopShop.

This photo is really good and so beautiful… Love it!

I did read the entirety of the blog. And it is racism to assert that all Native Americans feel the same way.

The Beauty of being your friend
      by: JL Price

I see beauty when you are near and I can spend time with you
It radiates throughout your personality, it comes into full view
The beauty that I speak about is inside it’s not just in good looks
Nor is it the beauty that’s seen on pictures or on Facebook

That beauty that dwells deep inside it makes you who you are
It’s the beauty many won’t see because they see you from afar
So I’m happy that I know you right now and that I am your friend
It’s so lovely what we share yet others around us don’t comprehend : )))) XXX
